Shopping Spree!

Okay, so I don't know if I told you guys but I gave up shopping for Lent. Well, not so much for Lent, more just because I didn't have the funds. I knew that all the winter things were going on sale and that no matter how much I wanted them, I would want spring clothes more. So I saved my money from the beginning of March until April 14th so that I could go on a little shopping spree! Wooo! And it was SO much fun! It was totally worth not buying anything for a month and a half! I strongly recommend trying this out! ANYWAYS. Now I want to show you all the stuff that I got! I got so many deals and I even went under budget! Yet I am still totally satisfied! Yay! Check it out --

I picked up both of these sandals at Aldo. I know that I will wear both of them all the time so I think they were good purchases!

Urban Outfitters! AND I got it for 50% off! I bought one similar for one of my bests at Christmas. You can't really tell from the picture but there is a metallic gold pattern on it too which I love!

You can't really tell from the picture...but the shoulders are ruched. (ya that is how you spell it lol) I always thought that this type of shirt would make me look huge but it actually flatters my shape really well! I plan on wearing it with a statement necklace or something like the necklace below.

Jacket & necklace from H&M. Once I saw the jacket I knew I had to have it! Haha.

Ten dollar print tank from Old Navy and ring from Aldo!

I always tend to have trouble with shorts but these fit me so well! They are an army green color and I might even go back for the gray pair! They are from ForeverXXI.

$2.50 tanks from Forever XXI. Yes please!

Floral dress from ForeverXXI.

Print scarf and silver and gold ring from Colour Blind on Whyte Ave. LOVE

Citizens of Humanity capris and floral tank from Bamboo Ballroom on Whyte Ave.They have such cute pieces there! If you are in Edmonton, I strongly recommend going there! =)

Oh! And I can't forget about the nail polish! Or as American Apparel likes to call it...'Nail Lacquer'. I posted about these a while back and I have wanted them ever since! I have been wearing the pink one for days and they have barely chipped! I got the light purple one from Icing.

Thoughts? Did I do a good job? Hahaa.

Rock & Bankruptcy

According to Vogue UK, the brand ROCK & REPUBLIC has filed for bankruptcy. The brand is now going to go through and major restructuring plan in attempt to regain strength. Have you stopped buying ROCK & REPUBLIC like I have? Maybe they should lower their prices. OR they should raise the quality of the jeans so they don't rip in the first 3 weeks of owning them. I think it will be hard for them to come back...but we shall see!

10 Pieces Every Woman Should Have...Via InStyle

Star stylist Nicole Chavez (inset photo) collaborates with celebrities like Rachel Bilson, Kristen Bell and Scarlett Johansson. We asked her which key pieces every woman should have in her closet.

Black Blazer

NICOLE SAYS "A tailored blazer is classic, feminine and looks great on all body types. Pair it with anything: jeans, little dresses, trousers, skirts. Make sure to find one that fits you well and accentuates your waist—you don't want it to look like it's swallowing you!"

Leopard Print Scarf

NICOLE SAYS "Even if you're wearing a basic T-shirt and jeans, use accessories like a printed scarf as the 'bright' piece to complete your look."

Red Flats

NICOLE SAYS "Black is the obvious choice, but red flats provide a pop of color and work for every season. I love to pair them with a striped shirt and a trench coat."

Striped Shirt

NICOLE SAYS "This timeless classic is having a comeback. It looks great paired with brights or prints or peeking out from underneath a blazer."

Statement Necklace

NICOLE SAYS "I believe in having basics in your closet and playing with your accessories. The statement necklace can make a simple outfit look strong and feminine."

Little Black Dress

NICOLE SAYS "Every woman knows she should have a little black dress, but it's important to invest in one that's special. Look for a dress with a detail—an interesting sleeve, an embellished belt—that makes it unique. And remember that finding the right fit is important!"

Black Opaque Tights

NICOLE SAYS "A great pair of tights can make your legs look slimmer and help you get away with wearing a dress that's a little too short. Double them up for a more opaque look—and to keep you warm in the winter!"

Oversize Watch

NICOLE SAYS "A watch is as much an accessory as it is a timepiece. A gold watch is a great way to dress an outfit up—try leaving it loose so it looks like a bracelet."

Classic Trench

NICOLE SAYS "Think of this as an investment piece—you'll wear it forever, even if you fluctuate in size. Look for a classic A-line silhouette that will cinch you in at the waist and wear it over everything from suits to jeans."

Flared Jeans

NICOLE SAYS "This is a flattering shape for most body types. Pair them with platforms or wedges to get extra height while keeping the look casual and comfortable."

Things to never say on a resume...

Yep, some people do this. A funny thing that I saw one time under a person's 'Hobbies' section was, "I love to watch hockey (Go Flames Go!)" Yes, it is funny but not appropriate for a resume! Here are some other things you should never say on your resume -- [courtesy of www.savvysugar.com]

Want a boyfriend? Wear these shoes...

Hahha...i really hope these aren't a hit. But they are kiiiinda cute?

Well if Tim Gunn Said So...

Can you wear brown and black together????

WELL...Tim Gunn says its possible! I have always been against it, but sometimes I feel like I have to! He is the one man who's opinion I would trust no matter what! Him and maybe Marc Jacobs too. haha. Here's what Mr. Gunn had to say:
"I find that few looks are quite as chic as brown and black together.
However, it's very important that it be the correct brown, because
not any brown will do. I find that a deep-chocolate brown is the
most successful choice to wear with black. This is especially true
with accessories: deep-chocolate only! Otherwise your look will become
entirely too casual to support the chic. A word to the wise: The only
time that I have seen brown footwear work with black was in the
case of a knee-high, chocolate suede boot and black tights. Stunning!"

Agreed!

I'm in Love with dexter!

Dexter is suuuuuch a good show. I'm in love. I love it because you can't just tune into any episode and know what is going on. It really is just like a 12 episode long movie. So many twists and turns and you never know what is going to happen. I highly recommend it!

I am on season 3 episode 6. It seems to always be on the sixth episode of every season that you get hooked and need to watch all at once. If you want a really really good website to watch it on go to this website. It is high def, yu only have to wait like 45seconds for it to load and there is no limit to how much you can watch! Doooo it! & then let me know what you think of the show!! =) I promise you will be hooked too.

My Christmas Time Indulgences

christmas time was full of indulgence for me. & none of these are gifts. HA.

Floral skirt, floral dress & purple shirt --> Luv It Boutique- Victoria, BC
William Rast Jeans --> Addicted Boutique- Victoria, BC
Tan Belt & Black Dress --> Aritzia
Studded Shrug --> Pusch
Black Vest --> H&M

One thing Calgary is definitely missing is a boutiquey area. Ya ya ya, we have 17th ave but considering Calgary is such a fashionable and chic city, we should have a better area. Downtown Victoria is amazing. I was down there for a little during Christmas holidays and so many places to shop! They have this area downtown that has everything! I was so impressed. Yes, I love shopping. Anywhere. But shopping in the mall gets old after a while. Especially since every girl is wearing the same thing nowadays.

I got those William Rasts for $100. I was so pumped. So if we could have more boutiques with deals like that I would be a very very happy shopper ;)

Tip: Calgary City Planners -- Invest in a shopping area downtown!
